This morning we had scheduled a sailing adventure on the Eagle Catamaran and were picked up in front of the hotel at 8:00 a.m. It left from the Simpson Bay area and was supposed to sail around the whole island, but the Atlantic side had some really strong waves, so we went up and back on the Caribbean side. The boat was very large and very modern. They gave us drinks and snacks, and we stopped for lunch at a restaurant on the beach (C’est la Vie, just up from our hotel!).
We were going to snorkel on the Grande Case rocks, but it was too dangerous because of the winds (we had a wild boat ride coming in!) We passed several really fancy hotels, and sailed passed the estate owned by Oprah Winfrey.
We went ashore at Simpson Bay area where we were given time to snorkel and saw two stingrays and several schools of very large and beautiful fish.
We went back to the port, and a taxi driver was waiting for us to take us back to our hotel. That was our only white knuckle ride. He was dangerous!! (Also in a big hurry!) We were glad to get back home.
